Don't you love this sink? Is that a laundry sink? Look, it even has a little pitcher of cream next to it for a mid-day facial if you're in the mood. How can you not be in that laundry room?
I HAVE A DREAM... That one day the towels and socks from all corners of my house will be folded at a waist high table of efficiency...
I HAVE A DREAM... That one day, even my little squatty laundryroom piled high with 8 peoples dirty laundry will be transformed into a homemakers oasis of blissful duty...
That's me, finishing laundry... we ONLY wear white clothes in our house...
I HAVE A DREAM... That one day my 6 children will live in a home that will not have a laundry room as ugly as sin, but one that hides it's contents and has character!
I HAVE A DREAM.... That one day I will not be embarrassed to show all of you the sad cave I call my laundry room...
I HAVE A DREAM... That one day I will have TWO Red washers and TWO Red Dryers and a butler or maid to actually run them!

Take pictures of your smashing the wall down so I can blog about it...lol
ReplyDeleteShoot ..now you make me have this urge to do something about my laundry room...darn you...lol
Love your blog..
I think a more realistic dream is that some day you can make the 6 kids do their own darn laundry :) Good luck!
ReplyDeleteP.S. When you are done with the makeover on your laundry room come do mine (I will have plenty of Diet Dr. Pepper and QUALITY chocolate).
I didn't realize Lee was signed in. The last comment was me, just the crazy cousin. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah and instead of the sink in picture 1, I want that cabinet for my downstairs bathroom! Oh yeah, the downstairs. Maybe by the time all 4 are in college it will get FINISHED by big daddy!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFYI-The deal is... when kids hit 10, they do their own laundry! SO, I've kicked 2 out of my routine, I just still have to house their STUFF!... somehow those clothes never quite make it to the laundry basket!
ReplyDeleteI have a dream that I will one day soon have a laundry room. ha ha ;) right now I am lucky if the "closet" where we keep our washer & dryer door shuts its so small! I am so not creative I am hoping that by the time I have to start making decorating decisions you would have rubbed off on me and my house have a little "STYLE" to her! Blessings
ReplyDeleteAt least you have a laundry *room*! My washer and dryer are tucked in the corner of the utility room with the huge furnace, water softener, water heater, etc., etc.,
ReplyDeleteNo magazine-worthy laundry room is ever gonna happen there. Waaah. :-(
Amen sister! I have that dream also! You should see mine... it is a work in progress, I'll have to show my husband these pics and tell him I want it to look like one of these! He will NOT like you! I think the first pic is the one I will show him! ha ha :)
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you! I don't have 8 people in my house, only 4, but I really want a nicer laundry room. It's one of those "hall closet laundry rooms" so I don't have a lot of room either. It's just wide enough for the two machines and about 9" in between them. But it is deep enough that you can set a laundry basket in front of the dryer and the door will still shut. :)
ReplyDeleteI've been dreaming of what to do in there too, so I can't wait to see what you do!
Oh my! I'm very excited about this. You MUST keep us posted. But that gets me thinking, sometimes I love decorating/organizing small rooms the best. Maybe I'll take on my Laundry room now....but I'll leave the wall smashing to you. Let me know how it goes.
ReplyDeleteFun blog! I don't think your laundry room is that bad...I have my in a dank, dark corner of my basement. But, I, too, have dreams of making it a lovely space just for me one day!
ReplyDeleteI have a dream too! There are so many cute laundry rooms out there in blogland. Now to get my act together and get something done!
