Is Your Well Empty or Full?

Just a quick post today. Remember the emergency drill on the airplane? "If cabin pressure should happen to change, oxygen masks will drop down from the ceiling. If you are riding with a child , please secure your mask first and then attend to your child..." Okay that's my version at least. Why do they say that?!?!? I understood when I became a mother of many.... because, if you as a mother don't have what you need to survive... you can't help your loved ones. Period. So, I ask a related question....

Is your well empty or full?

As a woman, mother, wife, and friend we are givers. We give love, care, concern, empathy, wisdom, advice, counsel, band-aides, and baths. However, it is difficult to draw water from an empty well.

What are you doing to keep the water in your well? Do you take time to read and ponder? Do you meditate and reflect on what your needs are? As the day begins, remember to take time to nourish yourselves. I read my scriptures and pray. I read books that uplift and inspire me. I educate my mind on topics that interest me or that I feel I might need in the future.

Taking time to read, ponder and pray is essential. It fills the heart, strengthens the spirit and quickens your mind. A good routine of personal time... carefully attended to, will keep your well full and enable you to give more without feeling run down.

So, remember to strap on your oxygen mask each day and take care of what you need so you can attend to the needs of others. Keep that well full and it will continue to provide nourishment and relief to those you love and serve.

What do you do to keep your well full?

Just a link today.... If you love music, If you love the Savior, If you love Art, You'll love this video!

I am a Child of God Video

I have no clue how to make the clever little window pop up and amaze all of you blogging experts. Maybe someone could clue me in?

A little about me:

A Child of God who is trying to raise 6 other Children of God the way He would have me do. I stumble, He forgives me... and they forgive me. I loose patience, all forgive me again. As a mother, I have grown closer to my Savior and Heavenly Father because I can see in my children what They must see in me... Isn't it great to be a daughter of a Heavenly King?

This is the song I sing to my children each night before bed. It's the lesson I want my children to remember forever... that they're children of the Almighty, that He had a plan in sending them to our family, and that we'll all return together as we look to Him and follow.

Have a blessed day... my sisters:)

To the Women

It's been a whole 2 weeks that I've been blogging... Here's what I've learned:

Women all over the world are doing exactly what I am doing... trying to be the best wife to their hubby, mother to their children, friend to their neighbor, and disciple of their Savior.

I am so impressed by all of you wonderful women! I visit your blogs, read your comments, and emails and I am inspired by your faithfulness. What a great influence you are in your corners of the world.

I want to share my favorite Hymn... it speaks to the work we do as women.
The text is by Emily H. Woodmansee 1836-1906 Galatians 6:2, 9-10.

As sisters in Zion, we'll all work together;
The blessings of God on our labors we'll seek.
We'll build up his kingdom with earnest endeavor;
We'll comfort the weary and strengthen the weak.

The errand of Angels is given to women;
And this is a gift that, as sisters, we claim:
To do what-so-ever is gentle and human,
To cheer and to bless in humanity's name.

How vast is our purpose, how broad is our mission,
If we but fulfill it in spirit and deed.
Oh, naught but the Spirit's divinest tuition
Can give us the wisdom to truly succeed.

Have a wonderful Sabbath day my sisters around the world. God bless the works you do in your homes and spheres of influence!
