I'm constantly looking for ways to keep my kiddos from looking like this All. Day. Long.
This is how I want them to look- happy, intelligent, engaged and having a good time.

7:45- Morning jobs *before breakfast* 1 per kid (Unload dishwasher, H2O garden, Take out trash, H2O front plants) Breakfast.
8:15 Clean up breakfast
8:30 Morning Exercise- walk, ride bike, roller-blade, run, ball game etc.
10:00 Practice Instruments or Personal reading
11:00 Outside Play or Swim
12:00 Lunch
12:30 Babies take nap
1:00 Brain Fun: Board games, friends, building toys, play outside, crafts or art activity.
2:30 Wii Free time
4:30 Pick up house
5:00 Dinner time jobs- set table, unload dishwasher AGAIN, dinner prep
5:30 Dinner and Clean-up
7:00 Babies to bed- Movie for kids who were kind, courteous, and civil to their brothers and sisters... violators go to bed.
How do you keep your kids busy?

Your schedule looks good to me! However, I'm pretty excited about not making my girls get up so early in the morning- & making life go a little slower- not so rush-rush all the time.
Do the other kids (the older ones) not need down time/quiet time? We still have quiet/nap time at our house but my guess is that by next fall my girls will be too old for naps.
I like how you've got it set up that each child will help out & do one chore. Makes tons of sense to me!
What have you decided on home schooling?
Ha haaaa! "Violators" go to bed at 7pm!
I love your blog - I don't think I've ever commented before, but I read you all the time:)
My girls get up at 7:30 every single morning, summer or not. They either have some sort of strange internal clock, or maybe they're just not old enough to discover the wonder of sleeping in. ;)
Whew you go girl!!
I just want the door mat!!
Wow!!
You're good...very, very good!!
Oh girl - I would give you a headache if you saw our schedule...way too loosey goosey, but the mornings they are having to step it up. We let them sleep in because mom needs the break.
And, by the way, glad you could use the picture of my smiling happy kids for this post. Yep, that's mine....every day. ;)
That is a great schedule! I need to bring a notebook and pencil when I come to your blog to take notes! : )
This is my first time to your palace. I heart this post. Heart. It. My kids shall have summer schedule by morning ;)
My 15yo son just said, "That's insane!" He's lived with a go-with-the-flow mom for too long.
School got out yesterday & I am tired of summer already & we definitely need some structure to our days. I love that violators go to bed @ 7. Sounds great to me.
Love this schedule! Think I could keep my 4 y.o to something like this? haha :) Maybe... have a great summer!
I love schedules, and kids thrive on them, I think! Ours is a little looser than that, and not written yet, but I think I should implement a written one! Thanks for the help! I always love your blog.
Googled kids summer schedule and you came up! Thanks for the idea :) I modified a bit to suite our family, but I really needed the framework that you provided! Thanks!!!
I just found your post by googling. So glad I found your blog. . appears we have similar heartbeats. :)

I realize this post is 2 years old, but after searching for a loose summer schedule that meets my needs, THIS is exactly what I was hoping to find. Thank you!!!
WOW!!!!! You have it all worked out! I have three kiddos and summertime is coming up and I was actually googling summer schedules for kids and I ran across your blog. My husband is deployed so I am trying to maintain some kind of order to help keep my sanity! Your schedule looks like an awesome thing to go on... Dead on with wake up times naps and bed times with my kiddos! Only thing is I have to keep myself motivated!!! Thanks for posting your idea!!! Def gonna give it a try! :D
Thanks for the help! I'm looking to set up a structure this summer for my 5 boys! By the way, are you still blogging?
I am a teacher and really dread the summer because it seems all my boys do it fuss and argue. I have already decided that no matter how much my boys fuss about a schedule, they really want one. Having them on the computer, in front of the tv or playing video games doesn't get it for me. Thanks for the schedule. I will def. put my spin on it and put it to work so we have a great summer.
Thanks for the inspiration. I used your schedule last year and was hoping to find it again for this summer. It's a life saver!
