A Million Dollars for Your Thoughts

All right, no, I don't have a million dollars.  I don't even have a million pennies so taking this poll is really a personal favor, not a bribe or a sweepstake or a lottery.  Be warned, you win nothing and will walk away as poor as you entered this blog.

You see, after almost a full year of blogging and 430+ people following and over 800+ people subscribing via RSS feed I've begun to wonder, "Why in the world do so many of you wonderful readers come back every day?"  You all know that I'm an average mother of 6... completely average!  I dye my hair which is at least 70% gray at the age of 34 with Medium Ash Brown every month just to keep up with the average 34 year olds in my neighborhood so really, I hit average just barely.  The only thing that is above average is my sense of smell which now sniffs out the above average amount of pee, body odor, stinky socks, and sour milk odors which adorn my average life.

So today, just to quell my curiosity I'm featuring a poll... and if you take it... I don't have a million dollars but I could offer at least 50 batteries that I've collected from around the house that MIGHT be dead or MIGHT be new and I'll throw in a bonus of 100 mismatched socks.

Your reason for visiting Pretty Organized Palace isn't here?  Leave a comment and let me know why YOU enjoy stopping by!

I just want to know why it won't let you pick multiple options:( I love your blog, keep up the great work!

Can we pick more than one reason? Yes, I love the decorating (and seasonal) posts - and the organizing tips... But, the mother stories are great, too. They help me feel a little more normal. :0)

I agree, there is more than one option to choose. I also like the seasonal decor and just hearing about life in general sometimes.

I like how down to earth you are. You are a real mom, you've done it, you're doing it, and it helps me in the day to day things that I go through as a mom of 3 young ones. Maybe I don't feel more normal, just not quite as crazy!

I love how you have pictures from all over the internet world to inspire me! The seasonal decor-to die for! The mayhem of your everyday life...LOVE IT!

But mostly, I love that I come here and am challenged as a mom of four by a mom of six to make my house a home for the greatest ministry I'll ever have: My family.

So, thanks!!! I could get all teary-eyed on ya, but that would be kind of stalker-ish, wouldn't it?

You guys are so great, Thank you! So, no one wants my batteries or unmatched socks?

Honestly, sometimes I think about not coming back when you use language I wouldn't use. But...you're real. You're talented. You have a crazy life, just like everyone, but you do such AMAZING things. (I'm still loving your kitchen, by the way. I can't believe you did that all by yourself!) I love that you can talk about how unorganized everything is one day, and show us such beauty the next.

You are also funny, I love your sense of humor:)

I've only visited a couple times, but your positive spirit comes through your posts & your sense of humor leaves one feeling relaxed & ready to tackle whatever is coming next in the life of Mommy's with wee ones. BTW if you find any takers for the batteries & socks I'll match you one for one. Not that the socks will match mind you.....
Thanks for your posts.

As a mother of 6 kids also I enjoy reading from another mother of 6. I can relate to your life, And really there are few of us in my town with that many kids to relate to.
I enjoy the photos, and your sense of humor.
I do not need your socks or batteries because I have that many unmatched socks already and that many batteries that are in the same limbo do I throw them away or not. Because when every object uses 4 batteries even one battery not working will mess up 3 good ones. It is a losing quandary.

I love your blog because it gives me hope. For when my husband and I have children. For when my dog gets mud all over my carpet. For when I am potty training. For when I have to pack up and move for my husband's job every few years (he's a minister).

Heck, my house is barely pretty organized with just myself, my husband, and our dog living here. Anyone who can not only function but thrive with six children and 13 years of potty training (you deserve the carpet cleaner, HINT HINT Mr. PO) obviously has wisdom to share and is a woman to be reckoned with. Keep up the good work!

Pretty much all of the above except for the last one. Your blog is inspiring to me, because I hope to someday be an average mom like you with a superb ability to keep my place pretty and organized amidst the mayhem. :)

I started reading your blog because of the title. As a BO (born organized), I love your organizational posts and tips. I kept reading because of your humor and honesty. The blend of tips and everyday life is a breath of fresh air.
