Planning the Kitchen

Having a brain freeze over color choices!!! Wish I didn't like so many colors!
Here's to my friend Melissa at The Inspired Room and Julia at Hooked on Houses.  Both are hosting linkys today.  I'm on a Kitchen Planning Binge.  Might be a little obsessed which is not really going to go with Melissa's goal of living life in balance... but I'm sure I'll be more balanced when the paint is chosen and the plan is set!

Green would look great.  Love the glaze on the bottom picture cabinets! And need that French Rooster!
Do you think I could just craft one of these decorative hoods out of salt dough and paint it?  Why can't I glue gun one of these babies out of cardboard and spray it? I don't need it to work... only to look fabulous!
Mmmm... CHOCOLATE!!!  Love the two cabinet colors!
Might just need toile walls!  This isn't even a kitchen but I LOVE this room!

See those plate hangy uppy thingy's?  I think hubby could make those.  I'll put them right above my dish washer... no cabinets on either side of sink... DUMB BUILDERS!!!  AHH.... I need to be on a mom pannel for builders.  Why don't they just ask us Homemakers how to make a home?
I think I'll try putting these decorative ornaments on my cabs before finishing... a little personality.

Oh, I know what you mean! I am just the same. We are going to redo the kitchen i our summer house and I can't decide to do a more modern och a coutry style.

They are all gorgeous, but I think I prefer the green *1st* one.

Have a great weekend!

All beautiful choices! We, (my idea, my husbands talent) redid our kitchen-took plain oak cabinets and painted them cream, added hardware-we haven't even done the counters and I already love it. If I could figure out the pic. computer thing I would put them on my blog. I thought about the green also but realized every picture I had cut out of a magazine had two things in common-wood floors and cream cabinets. Go with what you love! Beth

I do have a hard time deciding on colors! Maybe that's why we have all white in our living room...then I can add any color that suits my mood.

I like the green kitchen!

Have fun!

I'm with you on the asking "Homemakers" how a home should be build. When we were building our home, our contractor {male} try to convince me that I didn't need that many plugs- silly guy- I won in the end.
Love all your choices-
Have fun

I love all of them -but especially the glazed greens (second one). I guess it's just digging deep to see what you love the most. What's in the rest of your house? That oughtta help! But hey, nice thing about green a cabinet maker told me when we were picking our house: it goes with warm and cool colors, so if you switch up a lot on what you like, it's a good choice (I'm a warm devotee myself -just bought a red washer!)

I truly believed I was the only one who truly used "hangy uppy things" in a sentence. Glad to see I'm not alone! And I totally think your husband could make it!

ok - you are going to laugh at what just happened. Literally, as I was reading your comment on my blog, my youngest yells from the bathroom...."will you wipe me?" Yep, we'll be singing, bum wiping sisters together. :)hee hee

oh you are right where I am. In building our house I can not for the life of me decide what cabinets I want. Our cabinet guy has already been after me and the roof is not even on the house. UGHHHH where did you get all of those pictures because I am not good at finding them. :( DO you wanna move to Scottsboro and decorate my house ha ha ha Blessings Lady!

Hi I came to you via Melissa at inspired Room and lo and behold what do I see. "My Kitchen".How fun to see it in another venue and thank you for compliment of featuring it.Yes, I am the owner of the green kitchen. The funny thing is I was going through the same dilema about 5 yrs ago.We couldn't afford a whole reno so decided to paint the old stained burch cabinets.I couldn't decide on the color and one day my DIL said what about green?I had two antique shutters painted green in my Family room so I perched them up on the counter and there it was all them staring at me.So green it was.It is Pratt and Lambert Northern Green just in case you wanted to know that.I am posted at rms and also at Micasastyle.com if you want to see some of the ways I change the colors I accent with seasonally.I have my fall/winter look up right now.The other reason I chose the green it is different from every other kitchen I had seen.I was debating on the white or cream but not glazing them. Good Luck, I will come back and see what you wind up with. Come and visit me. Kathysue

Great inspirational photos. So many choices! How does one choose? I say think about what makes you comfortable and happy, and everyone else will be happy there too. Good luck.

I'm doing the same thing! I looked at ALL the same photos that you posted! The paint color is killing me, but I think I will follow Kimba's advice and try Restoration Hardware...butter!
