For every Christian who reads this post, and for every God fearing one as well, this is my favorite verse of our National Anthem, The Star Spangled Banner:
Oh, thus be it ever, when free men shall stand
between their loved homes and the war's desolation!
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto:"In God is our trust!"
And the Star Spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
We are a blessed nation. We were established hundreds of years ago and founded on the principal that men are free to worship God however they choose. This country has fought for its freedom and the freedom of people all over the world. So long as God's people choose Him, He will continue to bless and prosper them. He wants his people to be free to choose Him. He prepared this nation for those people who were seeking religious freedom. Our Founding Fathers were inspired by Him.
So much of what we hold dear is given for us to choose today as we exercise our duty and precious right to vote. The definition of marriage is on the ballot, an issue I hold dear as a wife and a mother to my 6 children. I pray that families will choose to keep its definition as history has always defined it. We also will have the opportunity to choose a new leader for this nation, one we hope will uphold the value of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Whatever your political persuasion, the right to vote is one that men have died fighting for. How blessed we are as a nation to be governed by the people and insomuch as we take part in that right, our duty as US citizens, we exercise our choice in supporting the morals and values we hold dear as a Judeo/Christian society. Please take time to vote today and let your voice be heard in standing for all that you believe and know to be right and true.

The lump in my throat, the tears in my eyes, the feeling in my heart, never greater than standing on Omaha Beach in Normandy 6 years ago. It was a gray, overcast day, a Sunday, perhaps similiar to the day 60+ years ago, when so many gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can vote our conscious today.
