Relaxing Space

Now, the closest thing I have to a Master Bedroom retreat is my bathroom.  And sometimes in order to make that space a retreat I have to just put a towel over my head while I'm on the toilet and pretend my toddlers aren't breaking down the door or busting in on me... real motherhood moments aren't always pretty.

I'm always trying to think of ways to make my room more of a retreat... keep in mind that I'm Pretty Organized.. not really super organized, or even close to perfect. I love how this little retreat is close and comfy... a place where you can relax.

My daughters would LOVE relaxing in here! AND... notice the pretty organizing.. Ooo and that looks like a great mistreatment (of Nester's fame) waiting to be copied!

Love this storage...

This desk is a great storage option. It screams thrift store find made classy. Give us moms a brush and some paint and a little painters tape.... and look how much you can hide in them drawers!  There is something so relaxing about a clean desk.... Ahhh.  I assure you mine looks nowhere near this clean. Ever. Not even after I've cleaned it. Nope. Sigh..

What things about a space make you feel most relaxed?

I WANT that bedroom! Isn't it funny how our bedrooms always seem to be the last room to get made over? One of my goals is to make our master bedroom a retreat/haven, a place for my huband and I to relax!

Great post! Love the pictures!

I have a smallish walk-in closet with a light. I find that if I'm really quiet, I can slip in there and no one ever finds me. That is my retreat. Not pretty, though. I guess in a few years, I can have pretty and retreat. Right now, I'll have to settle for just the retreat part even if it's on the floor of my closet. :)

NO CLUTTER makes me feel relaxed. :) I feel soooo much better at the end of the day when I sit down, survey the Family room and see NO clutter. :) It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's great. :)

My bedroom seems to be the place where clutter collects. Why? I have no idea. A beautiful room with no clutter would make my very happy.

I have to agree with Amanda...no clutter. I'm finding I want less and less things about, as I get older. Just more stuff to dust.

I'm still laughing, thinking about a towel over my head in the bathroom...
